My current work focuses on the texture of the paint on the canvas, the blurring of edges and forms, allowing the foreground to merge into and emerge from the background. I use venetian turpentine liberally to create glossy, silky surfaces that are sometimes translucent. Lumps, bumps and random blobs of paint are used to obliterate the artist's 'hand' and let the randomness of surface build.
